Asian Style Beef Lettuce Wraps

Ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound ground beef (I used 90% lean)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ an onion, diced or minced
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar or regular vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger
  • 1 tablespoon Sriracha (optional)
  • 1 tablespoons hoisin sauce (optional)
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • salt and black pepper, to taste
  • romaine, butter, or iceburg lettuce
Instructions
  1. Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium high heat. Add ground beef, garlic, onions, soy sauce, vinegar, ginger, Sriracha (optional), hoisin (optional) and cook until meat is browned & cooked through, making sure to crumble beef with a spatula as it cooks so you end up with little pieces.
  2. Season with salt and pepper, to taste.
  3. To serve, spoon several tablespoons of cooked beef mixture into the center of a lettuce leaf and eat like a taco.
