This is my favorite Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe. They are soft and chewy and turn out perfect every time I make them.
A little tip: Sometimes I like to make extra large cookie, so I use about 2 tablespoons of dough instead of 1 and cook for an extra 2-4 mins.
You want the cookies to just start to brown on the edge and then pull them out and they will give you a nice soft cookie with a slightly browned bottom.

Extra large cookies are the best! Can’t wait to try this version of (one of my) favorite cookies ;)
Very easy and oh so yummy! Thanks!
Amazing recipe! I made these cookies with my three year old, he loved it! I used butterscotch chips instead of chocolate chips and also real butter. This is going to be my main cookie recipe now on! Thank you Semiseeet Sisters!
Just made these cookies now letting them cool down! I’m really excited to try them!!!!! They look and smell amazing!
Very good recipe! Can this dough be refrigerated overnight or frozen before baking? I’ve never seen a recipe before where you stir baking soda in hot water and am wondering if it will change how they turn out if I put it in fridge or freezer. Thanks.
Thank you! Yes dough can be refrigerated. I haven’t tried freezing, but that should be fine too. I usually make all the cookies and then stick them in the freezer and pull a few out at a time.
