Simple Cinnamon Cake.
A recipe for simple easy cinnamon cake. I have been on a cinnamon fix lately. I just made monkey bread and the very next day I turned around and made this cinnamon cake. You could even frost the cake with a cinnamon frosting but I’m trying to keep things simple and basic.
This is a one bowl cake meaning you can add all the ingredients to a large mixing bowl and mix it up. Makes things nice and easy.
Recipe makes about 9 pieces depending on how you slice it.
Simple Cinnamon Cake

Ingredients
- ½ cup butter (1 stick) salted, softened (add ¼ teaspoon salt if using unsalted)
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 1½ cups all purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- ¾ cup milk
- -Topping for after baking-
- 1 Tablespoon butter, melted
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 Tablespoon sugar
Instructions
- Grease a 8X8" baking dish and set aside.
- Preheat oven to 350 F. degrees
- Add all ingredients to mixing bowl and use an electric mixer to mix the ingredients together for 2 minutes. Pour cake batter into prepared baking dish.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until top is golden brown and toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
- Let cake cool. Melt 1 Tablespoon of butter and brush the top of the cake with it. Mix cinnamon and sugar together in small bowl and sprinkle over the top.
